Our Commitment isn't just to the animals of Newton County We may have begun our advocacy journey in Newton County, but our commitment extends far beyond our local borders. Every animal in Georgia deserves an advocate — someone in their corner who can speak for them and ensure their best interests remain at the center of every decision. Advocates and volunteers hold invaluable insight, and their voices must be included when shaping ordinances and strengthening animal welfare laws. Across Georgia, every shelter is supported by passionate individuals who dedicate their lives to creating a better world for animals. We believe these advocates are stronger together, and we hope to be founding members of the Georgia Animal Advocate Alliance. Through compassionate care and collective action, we aim to enhance the lives of shelter animals and promote responsible pet ownership statewide. Our work inside the shelter is only the beginning. In February 2026, we launched our low‑cost spay and neuter program, offering pet owners and trappers the opportunity to have their animals sterilized — along with receiving their mandatory rabies vaccine — for $50 or less. Adoption alone cannot solve Georgia’s overpopulation crisis, but spaying and neutering can prevent future litters and create lasting change.
